This is the portfolio site of Karen Vanderpool-Haerle. I currently design and develop non gaming experiences for augmented reality and virtual reality for pain management and wellness. I strive to create immersive experiences to remove
physical barriers for individuals unable to explore the physical world.
As the only XR designer, I collaborated with a team of developers to create the 3D user interface for a knee replacement surgical navigation application for the HoloLens2. I believe in maximizing the use of user inputs such as hand
tracking, eye tracking, and voice interactions to improve the usability and immersiveness of XR applications.
With extensive expertise in biomedical visualization, healthcare, and art, my passion resides in creating virtual and augmented realities. I am an eternal optimist, always willing to listen and happy to share my knowledge with others.
